Let Nature Soothe You.

At this time in our world, many feel disconnected and in need of support and grounding that is not necessarily found inside of an office. I provide nature-based counseling in a peaceful and scenic outdoor environment, somewhere that you can return to long after the session and treatment have ended. Schedule with me today to experience equine therapy, paddle therapy, or trail therapy. I also offer tele-health for those who prefer the comfort of their own home.

Hello, I’m Lacey.

I am an avid outdoor enthusiast and Licensed Professional Counselor. My love for the outdoors has helped me navigate my own trauma, anxiety, and grief. I wanted to create a new way for people to experience counseling and healing outside of an office, so I moved my office outdoors.

I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University in 2011 and my Masters in Clinical Mental Health with a specialization in Equine-assisted Mental Health from Prescott College in 2016. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2020. I am currently completing trauma resolution training with the Somatic Experiencing Training Institute to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).

Prior to opening my private practice, I trained and counseled throughout the Valley to develop skills to work with diverse populations and community needs. I completed my practicum and internship at Remuda Ranch at the Meadows specializing in equine therapy for those struggling with eating disorders, addiction, and trauma. For three years, I worked with children and families in the child welfare system to strengthen their family units, to support reunification, and to prevent children from being removed from their homes. I was an Equine Therapist at Hunkapi Programs for four years serving individuals, adults, families, and groups. I specialized in implementing mindfulness-based practices and Somatic psychology to provide trauma-informed care to at-risk youth, children in the child welfare system, and First Responders.

Today, my private practice specializes in the treatment of anxiety, trauma/PTSD, and grief, specifically in children, adolescents, adults, First Responders, and healthcare workers. Being a counselor is my life calling and I guide those I work with to create their own purpose-filled and passion-driven life.

Nature-Based Therapy

I offer counseling outside in nature. Each session offers a balance of talk support, self-care practices, and tools for managing the symptoms most troubling you. Each is structured to meet your individual needs and preferences.

I offer tele-health for those who prefer support in the comfort of their own home.

My model focuses on enhancing the mind-body connection to promote emotional balance, resilience, and trauma resolution.

  • Sessions are held at a mutually agreed upon location located in the East Valley, most often near the Salt River, the Superstition Mountains, Usery Mountain, or virtually.
